Set of 3. In his best performances Jimi had the most dynamic and explosive sounds, the notes rolled off his fretboard like magical fluid. These Woodstocks with slightly-aged Strat sound have the most thump and punch, explosive attack and exceptional clarity, definition and projection. They break into easily crunch under heavy pick attack. Heaps of Alnico tone character. Overdosed with projection and grit and powerful top end chime. Great for Heavy Rock and extreme distortion. High output with the welcome advantage of Zero-Hum. Low magnetic string pull for longer sustain and less string crash and fret buzz.

Set of 3.
The Mk-III set has even more of a vintage sound flavor; the Mk-II set was quite strong on the plain strings and the overall impression of the sound was a little 'in-your-face. The sound of the plain strings on this upgrade is less in your face, absolutely vintage and noticeably sweeter. Like the Mk-II this set has 'slightly-aged' sound for more defined midrange (less scooped) which is better for live performing.
Only the most privelleged players have heard genuine original vintage pickups because they are so rare. They had a big, bold sweet, elusive sound that modern pickups just can't capture. The Traditional Mk-III set sounds remarkably similar to the best Strat pickups of yesteryear. Complex Alnico character, excellent dynamics, projection and definition that are retained even when distorted. Fluid, shimmery, chimey highs (never thin or Ice picky) More punch and thwack on the wound strings than a regular new single coil. Has excellent twang and growl. Absolutely authentic classic slightly-aged vintage Alnico Strat* tone, with Zero-Hum.
Low magnetic string pull for longer sustain and less string crash and fret buzz.
Very versatile. Buy this set if you want crystal clear sounds that don't break up easily. Dramatically extended versatility with a K9 NoSoldering Harness but works in the K5 & K7 harness very well also if you don't need the additional sounds of extended switching options.

Out of stockThe difference is that ThickMaster has a better dynamic range and aliveness. Can be used in the bridge position with a FatMaster Extra or SurfMaster Extra in the neck if a thick bridge sound is required, however, this changes the middle switch position (both-on-together) sound to a significant degree since the ThickMaster will tend to dominate the mix and produce a distinctive Cluck. Cluck is a new rage, and we are good at it.

Frequently seen Forum comment “Noiseless Strat pickups sound different to genuine single coils” Until recently that did have an element of truth in it, but not anymore. News flash Apr-2021: Now with our new Synergy baseplate that allows switching off Hum Cancelling as well as switching to 'Synergy' mode. Here is The Scoop, it uses our remarkable Gen-2 technology to give you the same sound as a mid 70's Fender pickup which is an astounding achievement for a noiseless Strat pickup.

Texas Jalapeño v3 (pronounced Halopeno)- sizzling sweet highs, lotsa of spicy presence, and aggression when you want it. "Ancho Poblano" extremo. Thinking up a name for our latest creation, we were torn between Anaheim Chilli and Texas Jalapeno, and both are great names. Anaheim is the birthplace of Leo Fender, and chili describes this pickup's sound and spicy performance very well. But Texas is BIG, and Jalapeño chili is hot enough for a great taste sensation but not so hot as to obliterate the taste of the food. Yup, that's why we went for Texas Jalapeño.
