Sixties Custom set Gen-2
Set of 2.
The most defintive classic Tele tone was made by the 1960’s white-edgebound Custom Tele with single coils. These AVn-60 series pickups give you a Caricature sound of those very rare guitars that you can have for your Tele too. The 60’s Custom set is bright but never thin, has improved focus, twang, dynamics and high end chime. Great for chickin pickin country lead or any other classic Tele style. The middle position of the switch sounds better than with original Telecaster pickups.
Imagine the very best Telecaster tone that you can remember; this set has more body & girth which means they never sound thin or excessively bright. The sound has very nice complex Alnico midrange detail and has Zero-Hum and zero microphonic whistle. Other features players will be delighted with is the superb dynamic range and string output balance.
This set has Kinmanusa’s propriety Alnico low strength magnets, like all our Fender type pickups, so string pull is minimized, sustain is longer and there is less rattle and buzz from the strings crashing into the frets from excessive magnet pull.

Description
60’s Custom set …. nice rich Tele Twang
60’s Custom set with all new Gen-2 pickups
This set is comprised of AVn-60b & AVn-60n both Gen-2 singles (details in the Single Pickup section).
….. played and enjoyed by aussie Troy Cassar-Daley who said “I was half expecting a plastic noiseless sound but I am more than delighted with these Kinmanusa’s”
These AVn-60 Gen-2 series pickups actually surpass the single coils in the 1960’s white-edgebound Custom Tele. Both pickups in the 60’s Custom set are bright and twangy, have excellent definition, dynamics and high end cut n sizzle. Great for chickin pickin country lead or any other style. That “Telecaster sound” … the middle switch position, is remarkably pronounced.
There is intense piano mid-tone detail and lots of sharp but sweet twang with increased dynamic response (strings feel more relaxed and the springy sound just flows without effort) …. and has Zero-Hum and zero microphonic screech. Other features you will be delighted with is the balanced string levels and the minimization of string crash and rattle thanks to the low strength Alnico-K rod magnets, which, like all our Fender type pickups, string pull is minimized and sustain is longer.
These all NEW Gen-2 pickups are very different to the original 1st generation predecessor. The taller coil, longer magnets and Kinmanusa’s patented magnetic focusing device produces non-aged sound which is much more alive and open. The sound is punchier with increased dynamic response for more fluid touch sensitivity (strings feel more relaxed and the springy sound just flows without effort).
Best in a Kinmanusa TK3 or TK4 Goodbye-Soldering Harness.
Technical Stuff
Some people will call these noiseless Telecaster pickups but Kinmanusa prefers to describe them correctly as Zero-Hum Telecaster pickups. That’s because there are 2 types of noise, Hum which is cancelled in the pickup and Buzz which can only be minimized by shielding the wiring cavities (refer to >Technical >Perfect Guitar > Shielding for newer guitars
Number of parts in this pickup: 28
Number of parts in normal pickup: 10
Number of parts in other brand noiseless: 23
Patent numbers 6,103,966 & 8,791,351
** Alnico-K is a unique proprietary Alnico rod magnet developed by Kinmanusa in 1985. It is Alnico-5 but has 40% less string pull than Alnico-5 so sustain is longer and there is much less clatter from string crash and no Strat-itis string warble.

Connection means available
- Bare wires for soldering.
- Kinmanusa connectors for plugging into any Kinmanusa TK3 or TK4 Goodbye-Soldering Harness.
Pot & Capacitor values
- Great Tele sound with 250k volume pot. A 500k volume pot makes the twang sharper. Both are good.
- Tone pot is usually the same value as the volume but for a little more top end brightness can be 1meg or a No-Load.
- Stock pots can actually measure as low as 170k and 350k. Pots in our Goodbye-Soldering Harness are guaranteed to measure no less that 250k and 500k respectively.
- Normal tone cap value of 0.022uF in 63 ~ 100 volt Polyester. Smaller value reduces the severity of Treble cut, larger values increase it.
Magnet spreads
- Bridge 55mm (standard) slanted mount resolves to 53.5mm
- Neck 50mm (standard)
Magnet Staggers
- Normal improved Stagger to suit 7 ~ 14 inch uniform radius fretboards.

Hook-up cables
- Cut generously longer than necessary for Telecasters.
- Custom lengths by request with Order.
- Bridge pickups have 2 or 3 conductor shielded. The 3 mounting screws provide a ground link to the bridge/strings.
- Neck pickup has 3 conductor shielded cable (OK for series connection of 4 pos switch –and– phase reversible –and– compatible with Fender’s S1 harness).
Output Polarity:
- Phase reversible so can adapt to any companion pickups
