Neck Blaster
Naturally, as the name implies, it is the fully balanced companion pickup for the wonderful Bridge Blaster, and it has the sonic character to match. Lots of thick-sounding thumps from the low wound strings and noticeably darker sweet plain strings, even in the high register. It’s also good as a companion pickup for PAF-type bridge humbuckers and P-90s.

Neck Blaster (Gen-2 neck pickup)
Naturally, as the name implies, it is the fully balanced companion pickup for the wonderful Bridge Blaster, and it has the sonic character to match. Lots of thick-sounding thumps from the low wound strings and noticeably darker sweet plain strings, even in the high register. It’s also good as a companion pickup for PAF-type bridge humbuckers and P-90s.
The position 2 sound (bridge + neck) with a Bridge Blaster produces a very nice, strong cluck sound. It’s more intense than the classic Tele B+N sound.
Magnet stagger available only for fretboard radius between 7″ and 14″ until further notice. Our amazing Gen-2 neck pickup design, together with another Kinman invention that dramatically increases magnetic efficiency, allows us to wind a great-sounding Zero-Hum neck pickup with incredible loudness, even though it’s a small pickup. We recommend you change the Technical Tab to the right for the important stuff you should know about this new model.
Technical Stuff
Having super high output means at 23mm, it’s 3mm taller than our original Gen-1 models. There should not be a problem accommodating it in a modern USA Telecaster.
Exquisite Alnico sound unlike any other. This pickup has Kinman’s propriety Alnico low-strength magnets, like all our Fender-type pickups, so string pull is minimized, and sustain is longer. There is less rattle and buzz from the strings crashing into the frets from excessive magnet pull.
Some people will call these noiseless Telecaster pickups, but Kinman prefers to describe them correctly as Zero-Hum Telecaster pickups. That’s because there are 2 types of noise, Hum which is canceled in the pickup, and Buzz, which can only be minimized by shielding the wiring cavities (refer to >Technical >Perfect Guitar >Shielding for newer guitars
Number of parts in this pickup: 167
Number of parts in a normal pickup: 10
Number of parts in another brand noiseless: 23

** Alnico-K is a unique proprietary Alnico rod magnet developed by Kinman in 1985. It is Alnico-5 but has 40% less string pull than Alnico-5, so sustain is longer, and there is much less clatter from string crash and no Strat-itis string warble.

- Kinman connector for plugging into any Kinman Goodbye-Soldering Harness.
Hook-up cable
- Prepared and cut generously longer than necessary for Telecasters.
- Custom lengths by request with Order.
- 3 conductor shielded cable (OK for series connection of 4 pos switch –and– phase reversible –and– compatible with Fender’s S1 harness).
Dimensions

Output Polarity:
- Phase reversible, so can adapt to any companion pickups.
Pot & Capacitor values
- Best with a 500k volume pot. Will have subdued piano mid-tones and twang with 250k, not recommended.
- Stock 500k pots can actually measure as low as 350k. Volume pots in our Goodbye-Soldering Harness are guaranteed to measure no less than 500k, and our Gen-2 TK3 and TK4 harness incorporate a switch that changes the pot value from 250k to 500k.
- The tone pot is usually the same value as the volume, but for a little more, top-end brightness can be 1meg or a No-Load.
- Normal tone cap value of 0.022uF in 63 ~ 100-volt Polyester. Smaller value reduces the severity of the Treble cut, larger values increase it.
Magnet spread
- Standard 50mm only.
Magnet Staggers
- Normal improved Stagger to suit 7 ~ 14-inch uniform radius fretboards.
- Flat Stagger for specific compound radius fretboards (Warmoth 10 ~ 16 inch and Post 2010 Fender Deluxe 9 ~ 14″).
- Option to specify the magnet stagger of sets and singles in our ‘After-Payment’ Supplementary Questions‘ email we send you.
Mounting hardware included
- 2 Pan head mounting screws 4-40 UNC x 21mm.
- 2 Silicon Rubber tube springs.
Cover
- NEW Tele neck pickup can have an electro-Chrome, Gold plated, or buffed natural Nickel-Silver cover (great for relaxing) for extended durability and zero impact on sonic performance. Matching mounting screws.
- Arched top to accommodate staggered magnets for perfect string volume balance.
- With or without the Kinman logo.
We highly recommend consulting the Install Guide in Tech Info, even if you think you know it all. Kinmans require specialized knowledge, and sometimes there is updated info. There is also a handy wiring diagram available.
We also highly recommend consulting the Adjust & Set-up page in Tech Info so you get the best out of your Kinman pickups.
